Frequently Asked Questions.
Do I need to see a therapist or dietitian if I think I have an eating disorder?
We all have different needs when it comes to nutrition, mental health, and body image. Based on your individual needs, meeting with one or both types of clinicians may be beneficial. You can fill out this form to tell us about your needs and we’d be happy to help find an approach that works for you!
How frequently do I need to meet with my therapist and/or dietitian?
This is very individualized and depends on the needs of each individual. Once you have completed an assessment with a provider, we can give you a better idea of what a treatment plan looks like. However, we generally recommend meeting weekly or every other week.
How long will I need to see a therapist and/or dietitian?
The length of treatment varies based on individual needs, preferences, and recommendations. Some find benefit in meeting with a therapist and/or dietitian on a short-term basis (approx. 2-3 months) for resolving acute needs, while others find ongoing treatment helpful for support with managing symptoms.
How do I know if this is the right level of care for me?
Our team of experts will work with you to understand your support needs. If it is determined that a higher level of care is needed or recommended, we will assist in connecting you to additional support resources and care.
Will you help me lose weight?
Here at CCN, we are a weight-neutral practice helping people heal and create a positive relationship with food and their body. We strongly feel that focusing on weight, size, and shape interferes with the healing process. Therefore, we do not treat body size and instead focus on behaviors and quality of life.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a self-pay practice and therefore do not accept insurance. However, you can apply for financial assistance. If you would like to apply for financial assistance please note this when filling out a new client form.
The most cost-effective option? We currently have an intern therapist offering sessions for $75. If this is something you are interested in please note in the new client form.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! All of our clinicians and coaches can provide virtual sessions throughout Indiana. If you are local to the Indy/Carmel area, our providers offer a variety of in-person, hybrid, and virtual session options that are all HIPAA compliant to ensure privacy.
What is recovery coaching?
Recovery coaching focuses on the present, day-to-day challenges of eating disorder recovery. A recovery coach can help identify obstacles, and goals, and work with you to create an action plan toward achieving your goals. In addition to individual coaching sessions, recovery coaches often offer services such as support meals, text and email support, shopping and restaurant outings, and more! Recovery coaching can be a great addition to your treatment team for those needing additional support, or a great option for those further along in their recovery journey.
